 My Dashain  Exprience (2075)

Popular Festival in Nepal: Dashain

The Dashain Festival is also celebrated by Hindus and Nepalese in practically every other part of the planet where they live. In Nepal, Dashain is the longest and most notable festival on the calendar, and many Nepalese expatriates actually return to Nepal specifically to observe Dashain Festival in their homeland.
Dashain runs from the “bright moon” until the full moon in the Hindu month of Ashvin, lasting for 15 days. On the gregorian calendar, it falls in either September or October, varying from year to year due to the differences between a lunar versus a solar based time-keeping system. During Dashain, many Nepalese businesses and public buildings will be closed, so the tourist will need to plan ahead carefully.
Dashain is my favorite  festival  as relative scatter from all around a country or another country come to one place to share joy ,happiness, blessing with other relative. In dashain we can do plenty of fun stuff such as playing in a large swing with whole family ,flying kites from house roof and many more. I flew kites with my brother at our house roof . I went  my aunts house for three days during dashain as i have my younger brother and a elder sister there  we played cards till late . We played swing which was placed infront of my aunt house. I returned to my house after three days with my aunt, brother and sister for putting tika from our  grandfather and grandmother . We completed putting tika at 12 : 00  and had lunch together.  then  went my mother vilage with my family to put tika from my mother mom who was  78 years old . Mamily came back to kathmandu after three days but me and my brother stayed there for another 15 days and returned to kathmandu at kagh tihar.

Image may contain: 2 people, people standing and outdoor
Teej is the fasting festival of women in Nepal. It falls in the month of August or early September. Married women observe Teej fast to honor Lord Shiva and for long and healthy life of their husband. Unmarried girls also observe fast on this day for a good husband. Teej celebrations lasts for three pious days. Traditional dances and songs form an important feature of Teej celebrations. Red color is considered auspicious for women observing Teej fast and so most of them dress up in red or bridal clothes.

Teej Celebrations

Teej is an annual festival of Nepali women. The festival is celebrated with utmost dedication and love by the women in Nepal. Preparations for the festival begin well in advance. Fabric stores, sarees and suit outlets are stocked with the bridal red color fabric. Women spend most of the time shopping when Teej is near.
Teej festival celebrations are carried further with sumptuous feasts and traditional performances. On this day, women dress up beautifully. They clad themselves in red colored apparels, wear glass bangles, heavy ornaments and apply henna. Teej gives women an opportunity to dress like the newly wed. They worship the epitome of divine marriage - Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, for longevity and prosperity for their husband and family.

Three Days of Teej

Teej is a three-day-long festival in Nepal and each day has its own significance.
  1. First day is called 'Dar Khane Din', the day to make merry.
  2. Second day is a 'fasting day'.
  3. The third day is called 'Rishi Panchami' in Nepal which is a day to perform Teej Puja.

Father  is a head of the family which looks and cares for the family. A father is a gift to all the children which we have from the day we were born. He is the person which looks and takes care of us.  Father hide their feeling towards their family in order to become strict but he do care from inside of his heart. Wheare ever a father might be but he is always worried about his family.  Father is a person who frightens us ,sometime scare us,beat us if we have done something wrong but if he is  frightening  , or beating sometime the he is caring for us . He is worried for us that we might not go in the wrong path. Everyone has a father someone's father is a sucessful , popular person.  My father is not so popular or sucessful but he is really special to me.
